You Are Not Meant to Face Cancer Alone

Cancer is hard, but it doesn’t have to be lonely. We are here for you.

We are a cancer support community of more than 500 trained volunteers. Whether you are facing cancer yourself or caring for someone you love, our volunteers offer emotional support for cancer patients and cancer caregivers, providing hope and compassion.

If you need an understanding friend who has walked the path that you're traveling now, join our nationwide cancer support community to connect and start receiving one-on-one cancer support by phone, text, email or in person on a one-time or ongoing basis.  

Who We Are

One on One Cancer Support Community

Founded by Anne Shaw Turnage, a survivor of metastatic colon cancer, CanCare has grown into a network of of over 500 trained cancer support volunteers, including cancer survivors and caregivers who provide emotional support and cancer-related resources. Survivors of more than 60 different types of cancer are the heartbeat of our cancer volunteer organization, providing hope, friendship, and hospital visitations for those facing cancer.
